An ideal surgical suture has these characteristics:
- Do not compromise the vitality of the wound edges;
- Allow a precise approach to the edges of the wound;
- It does not present the introflection of the edges of the wound;
- Maintains tensile strength during the healing process;
- It is easy and quick to manage during dressings and at the time of removal;
- Does not leave the mark of the stitches;
